Sentry Bank is looking to hire a part-time teller for our St. Joseph location. Hours would mainly include Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons and 3-4 Saturday mornings a month.


Bank tellers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service including efficient transaction processing.

Essential Functions

  1. Receive checking and saving deposits and withdrawals, verify cash and endorsements, receive proper identification for cash back and issue receipts
  2. Examine checks deposited and determine proper funds availability based on regulation requirements and complete hold notices
  3. Answer basic customer inquiries regarding account information, while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies.
  4. Issue personal money orders and cashier’s checks
  5. Accept loan payments, verify payment amount and issue receipts
  6. Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded
  7. Balance drawer daily, including periodic batching of cashed checks
  8. Follow all bank policies and procedures

Qualifications for the Bank Teller position include a high school diploma or equivalent. Cash handling or customer service experience preferred.
